Literacy Support Systems, Inc. is an organization which provides professional development services in developing sound practices in all aspects of school reform, literacy curriculum, staff training, and at-risk student supports. We service pre-kindergarten through High School grade professionals. We believe all children can learn given the appropriate supports.
We provide the following services:
- Help develop and support literacy environments
- Help create and service lab sites for on-site training
- In-class literacy modeling, pre- and post-planning
- Literacy workshops
- Support literacy strategies in all content areas
- Support Math and other content area studies across the grades
- Backwards Design planning
- Creating literacy through play
- Arts and literacy
- Support the New York City's arts blueprint with a group of qualified artists
- Support and develop strategies for testing as a genre
- Assessment and evaluation
- Planning and recordkeeping methods
- On-going principal and leadership support
- Reading and Writing institutes
- Parent and community workshops
- On-going assessment of programs
