Mimi Aronson is currently an independent literacy consultant in the New York metropolitan area and San Diego, California.  She works side by side with city and suburban teachers, supporting their ongoing professional development in the classroom, with a focus on reading and writing workshops.  She helps plan literacy programs, supports teachers when creating their own writing groups, works with school administrators and district level personnel to develop and write curriculum.  Her article, “A Writer’s Chronicle” appears in Whole Language in Urban Classrooms,Encounters with Literacy, edited by Charles Chew, Berrent Publishers Inc. N.Y.  She had a long affiliation with Columbia University Teachers College Writing and Reading Project, directed by Lucy Calkins.
