Rosa Alcalde Delgado is the Chief Education Officer (CEO), and Founder of Education Consortium, LLC, a consultancy firm here in New York City.Through the firm, she has provided extensive Professional Development, Coaching and Mentoring for many New York City schools and their Instructional Leaders within the five boroughs, and has successfully worked with all schools, either “Well Developed” or “Schools in Need of Improvement” (SINI). Rosa holds a B.A. in Political Science from UCLA, a Multiple-Subject Teaching Credential with a Bilingual, Crosscultural, Language and Academic Development (BCLAD) certificate, and an M.A. in Educational Administration from California State University Los Angeles (CSULA).Most recently, Rosa has acquired an Ed.M. in Comparative and International Education from Teachers College, Columbia University, and has also acquired the School District Administrator (SDA)certification from the University of the State of New York, Department of Education.Currently, she is working on her doctoral degree at Teachers College, Columbia University, in Multilingual/Multicultural Education in Urban Settings. Rosa has been a dedicated educator for twenty three years and has developed an exceptional background in ESL and bilingual/bicultural education in the areas of curriculum and instruction, professional development, dual language programs, and balanced literacy methodology both in California and New York City.Her most recent experiences include instructing a Bilingual Literacy course and a Supervised Practicum at Hunter College in New York City.Additionally, she has worked for the Center for Educational Innovation – Public Education Association (CEI-PEA: A Partnership Support Organization) as an ELL Specialist.She also worked for the Bilingual Education Technical Assistance Center (BETAC) at Hunter College as a Resource Specialist, as well as with the New York City Department of Education (NYCDOE) as an English Language Learner Instructional Support Specialist (ELL ISS) where she coached and provided instructional and technical support to both teachers and administrators. Rosa has worked with all levels of students and schools--from pre-K through adult education.She has mentored various Bilingual and ESL teachers throughout NYCDOE public schools, and supervised in-service and pre-service teachers at Bank Street College, City College (CCNY), Hunter College and Teachers College, Columbia University.
