Dr. Amanda Grumet has been working with teachers and students in early childhood education in the tri-state area since 1997. Dr. Grumet employs an integrated arts model using music, theater, movement and visual arts to create links for children between classroom curriculum and real world experience. Through classroom demos and professional development for teachers, she assists schools in bringing reading and writing, math, and science to life for preliterate and bilingual children, using the arts to engage them in complex cognitive tasks that prepare young people for success both inside and outside of the classroom. Dr. Grumet is on the faculty of Lesley University teaching in their Master's Program in Aesthetic Education, and also on the faculties of Lincoln Center Institute and the American Place Theater's Literature to Life Program.
