Steven Marino taught mathematics in Long Beach, New York for thirty-six years and served as the department chairperson for twenty years. He was a mentor to beginning teachers and a staff developer, specializing in middle school mathematics. Some of his duties included coordination of instructional programs, supervision of staff, and curriculum writing. For the past ten years, he has been an Adjunct Associate Professor at Nassau Community College in the mathematics department. He was part of the NYS Algebra Regents Committee which was responsible for creating statewide examinations in mathematics, and he was a member of the New York advisory panel for Holt Mathematics.
