Patricia Lynch
Patricia Lynch has been an educator for over twenty-five years, teaching kindergarten children through graduate students. Having worked, as a literacy consultant, with many schools where children are primarily English Language Learners, Patricia has a special interest and understanding for those children who are acquiring English language skills and she has developed learning strategies to support this group of learners. Patricia has conducted literacy workshops for teachers throughout New York City, in both public and private schools. Patricia frequently offers learning sessions for parents to help them develop ways to support their children’s literacy development. As an instructor at the Bank Street College of Education, Patricia taught graduate reading and children’s literature courses through the Department of Reading and Literacy. The acquisition and development of writing is an area to which Patricia has devoted much study. She is especially interested in the integration of writing into content areas and the ongoing assessment of student writing. Patricia has been the director of the Lower School in a New York City independent school, and is currently the Director of Studies for Grades K-12 at the same school.
